Landmark Pastoral Farms, LLC offers NON-GMO, 100% grass-fed beef raised on our farm in Mt. Pleasant, MI. Our herd of Registered Black Angus bred for the quality of their beef and receive a forage based diet via continually rotated to fresh new growth grass pastures. Our animals are on fresh grass pastures from April to November annually and on a dry lot with cement and bedded buildings (straw) for shelter in the winter months. In the winter months the animals are fed grass hay baled on our farm. We never feed antibiotics and never administer synthetic growth hormones!

In the interest of full disclosure we will use antibiotics when an animals life is in danger and all other methods of treatment have been exhausted. There is a lot of controversy regarding antibiotics but we firmly believe God created them to save animals as they do humans. We do observe the “withdrawal time” provided by the manufacturers to allow the antibiotic to clear the system prior to slaughter. Animals given any antibiotics are separated from our non-antibiotically treated animals and sold to our customers after full disclosure and acceptance of the treated animal. Generally 1-3 animals annually receive an antibiotic treatment out of the 240 +/- on the farm.

“If I have a choice to use an antibiotic and save an animal or simply let it die I will choose the antibiotic every time!” Todd Bean, April 2017

Our cattle receive the best of care not limited to state of the art facilities, clean well water, organic minerals and fresh air! All our cows are tame, have a name and look forward to the daily brushing from Todd! Due to emotional attachment the calves are not named but rather numbered, if they are heifers and we decide to retain for breeding they will receive a name at that time. Seems easier this way, LOL!

The following are some benefits of grass fed beef:

1. Lower in total fat
2. Higher in beta-carotene
3. Higher in vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol)
4. Higher in the B-vitamins thiamin and riboflavin
5. Higher in the minerals calcium, magnesium and potassium
6. Higher in total Omega-3’s
7. A healthier ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 fatty acids (1.65 vs. 4.84)
8. Higher in CLA (cis-9 trans-11), a potential cancer fighter
9. Higher in vaccenic acid (which can be transformed into CLA)
10. Lower in the saturated fats linked with heart disease

We sell grass-fed beef by the 1/4, 1/2 or whole beef. Call, text or email Todd for more information or any questions you may have.

Hanging Pics, 12-27-17
Above are some hanging pictures of some steer slaughtered on 12-27-17. Please note the fat upon the carcasses is fat and marbling is what typical grass fed beef is lacking. Due to our grass fed genetics and superior grasses we are able to get the tasty fat.
